Eric spent his entire childhood in a town on Long Island called Oceanside. He was born to a sales representative and school district administrator. Eric’s strong interest in the natural sciences began from an early age with the question “why don’t the clouds fall?” Since then he has done research in systems biology and biological engineering, modeling large-scale protein pathways and engineering dark FRET probes. Now Eric studies the assembly of quantum dots with varying ligands in quantum dot solids to enable better measurement of electronic properties of these dots. He is a student in Columbia College in the class of 2019 intending to double major in Chemistry and Physics. When Eric is not dropping liquids on surfaces, he enjoys bike rides in NYC, board games, playing with cats, and stand up comedy.
