Matthew Greenberg was born and raised outside of Albany NY, in a little town called Bethlehem. He first discovered a passion for science in a childhood fascination with understanding the weather. Matthew went on to study Chemistry at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York. At Bard, Matt had his first exposure to research in the laboratory of Dr. Craig Anderson studying platinum C-H activation chemistry, and STEM education through teaching mathematics. After Bard, Matt decided to descend the state once more to pursue his Ph.D. in Chemistry at Columbia University in the Owen lab, where he is currently studying the synthesis and electronic structure of transition metal carbonyl carbide clusters. In his free time, Matt enjoys listening to and playing music, being outdoors, and attending unusual New York City cultural events.
